Battle of Mt. Xingshi
Attack on Sima Shi
|Real name:||Xiahou Xuan|
丨Xiahou Xuan was a Wei general.
Xiahou Xuan was related to Xiahou Yuan, the great archer, and was thus related Cao Cao and his grandnephew, the regent of Wei Cao Shuang. In AD 243, he commanded a part of the Wei invasion force when Cao Shuang attacked Shu, hoping to conquer it. But Cao Shuang was careless in preparing battle formations and suffered a disastrous loss. Xiahou Xuan remained loyal to Wei following the death of Cao Shuang, but then noticed how Sima Shi was usurping Emperor Cao Fang's power. He took part in the scheme to assassinate Sima Shi, which would allow Cao Fang to retake power and put Xiahou Xuan as General-In-Chief. The plot was discovered and Xiahou Xuan was executed. He was friends with Guanqiu Jian and Zhuge Dan, who would rebel against the Sima family.
