Biography[]
Zhang Qi was a high-ranking official of the Kingdom of Cao Wei, and was the father-in-law of the Wei emperor Cao Fang. In AD 253, the Regent-Marshal of Wei, Sima Shi was clearly usurping the throne and taking power. Cao Fang drummed up a plot to assassinate him. Zhang Qi, Xiahou Xuan, and Li Feng agreed to take part in the plan, and prepared to murder him when he went on a stroll in Luoyang. Zhang Qi used the heavy artillery defending the city to attack him and his escorts, but they failed and Zhang Qi was executed.
